Common Problems and Solutions for Thermal Inkjet Ink Cartridges

Some problems you will face when using industry thermal inkjet printer. You can solve them as the following instructions：

1. Missing small lines

This problem always cause by nozzle blocking. Wipe nozzles with non woven or tissue if  blocking is not serious.

If  too serious, have to unclog cartridge:

• Make 2 drops of 100% anhydrous ethanol or butanone on each row of nozzles (butanone is very corrosive, please use with caution). Do not drop too much at a time, otherwise it will damage the cartridge.
• Wipe the nozzle with non-woven cloth or tissue immediately after dropping otherwise it will damage the cartridge too.
• After wiping nozzle, press the nozzle onto a thick towel and wipe vigorously several times.
• Test on printer to check print quality.
• If print quality is not good, pls repeat the steps several times.

After unclogging, the print quality still not good. It’ s better to vacuum cartridge:

2. Missing big lines.

This problem always caused by the cartridge haven’t been connected well with print head. Pls remove cartridge and insert it firmly with force.

3. Blurred prints

This problem may caused by incorrect parameters ( voltage & pulse width) or excessive throw distance( 2mm is the best for most of cartridges).

4. No any printing.

Wipe the nozzles with a non woven cloth or tissue, if there is no any ink on them, it means cartridges get blocked, need to take the solution as missing lines. If there there is ink on them, pls check the parameters (voltage& pulse width)

5. Contact pin of cartridge is delaminating
