How to Use a Restore File on G10+ and G11 TIJ Online Inkjet Printers?

I.  What Is a Restore File? Why Should You Use a Restore File?

If the system files on your G10+ or G11 TIJ inkjet printer become corrupted and the printer can no longer boot into the operating system, you can use a restore file to recover the system and restore normal operation.

After using a restore file, the system will revert to its factory software version.

  • For printers with a factory software version <V3.72: the system will be restored to the original factory version.

For example, if a printer was shipped with V3.10 and later upgraded to V3.80, using a restore file will restore it to V3.10.

  • For printers with a factory software version ≥V3.72:

if the printer was upgraded to V3.80, using a restore file will restore it to V3.72.

Important:  If your printer contains important files or data, back them up before using a restore file. Once the restore process is completed, the printer will be reset to its factory state, and all user data and settings will be erased.

II.  Signs of System File Corruption

If your G10+ or G11 printer experiences any of the following issues, the system files may be corrupted and the printer may require a restore file:

  1.  The printer displays a white screen after startup and cannot enter the main interface.
  2.  A white screen appears during operation.
  3.  A loading error screen is displayed.

III.   How to Use a Restore File

Download the restore file to the USB drive provided with your printer. If you use another USB drive, ensure it is compatible with Android devices.

  1. Contact us to obtain the restore file.
  2. Extract the restore file and save it to the root directory of the USB drive (not inside a folder). Otherwise, the printer will be unable to detect the file. The correct location is shown below.

3. Do not rename the restore file or change its file format.

4.(1)For printers with software versions <V5.50, power on the printer and insert the USB drive containing the restore file when the message “Superuser granted to Linux Deploy” appears at the bottom of the screen.

Remove the USB drive within 5 seconds to 5 minutes after the screen turns black during the restart process.

If the USB drive is not removed, the printer will repeatedly perform the restore process and restart.

(2)For printers running software version ≥V5.50, insert the USB drive before powering on the printer.

When the printer restarts and a blue screen appears, remove the USB drive within 5 seconds to 5 minutes to prevent the printer from repeatedly restoring the system and restarting.

After the printer enters the system, verify the software version to confirm that the restore was successful.
